A shaker card was the theme for the April 2020 Get Creative Challenges Blog design team. I will be honest, I had never done a shaker card before. This is the great thing about the design teams I am in, they challenge me to think about card making in new ways.
The final challenge to achieve a level 1 in the Altenew Educator Program was to create 2 sets of cards, one for her and one for him. Each set needed to have 6 cards on the same theme.
The ‘Irresistible Inking Techniques’ Altenew Academy class looks at different creative ways to use your ink pads. Some of these techniques I had learned previously in other Altenew Academy classes, but a few were completely new to me. The class is run by Sara Naumann, who has her own unique style and explained the techniques really well.
It’s been a while, but I’ve finally finished another Altenew Academy class ‘Easy Die Cutting Techniques’ by Yana Smakula. This class covers everything from the basic use of dies with stamps to some more advanced techniques.
‘Seasonal Scene Building’ is an interesting mix of a class from Altenew. The tutor Nichol Magourik, brings a different way to use techniques that you may already be familiar with. I found myself thinking a lot during the class, that I had never thought of doing that before.

‘Celebration: Stencil Techniques’ class is part of the Altenew Educator Programme. This class is taught by the talented Laurel Beard. This class concentrates on using just one stamp set, and how many different looks can be achieved combining it with different stencil techniques.
