Over lockdown I decided to continue painting the miniatures from ‘Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth’ board game.
I again used Sorastro’s painting series on YouTube. I find him very useful for explaining techniques and pointing out different aspects of the figures. Then I go my own way with the paints I have, and the aesthetic I want to get.
I decided that one of the wargs should be red/brown, the same as the big bad warg. It was the first time I had attempted eyes. The pupils can be tricky to paint. I ran with my mistake and gave each of them an injured eye. This gave them character. Some have also been more in the wars than others.
They look great on the board, painted miniatures really bring a game to life.
