The ‘Irresistible Inking Techniques<\/a>‘ Altenew Academy class looks at different creative ways to use your ink pads. Some of these techniques I had learned previously in other Altenew Academy classes, but a few were completely new to me. The class is run by Sara Naumann<\/a>, who has her own unique style and explained the techniques really well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My best card from this class is my ‘Call me’ card. The theme of the stamp really resonates with me during lockdown. The stamp set is called ‘It’s for you<\/a>‘.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First I used the Altenew Lagoon Ink pad and applied it straight to my stamping block. Then added a bit of water. I loved how this stripe of colour gives texture to the card. After that had dried, I stamped the image of the phone in Lava Rock. I wanted a vintage look, and something that wasn’t as stark as black. I then used the watercolour technique to colour in the phone in Evening Grey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, I added the sentiment and edged the card in the Lagoon colour. I then did the inked stamping technique on the card blank, this time in Emerald. To give an extra sense of texture I sprayed the background with the watercolour I had created with the Lagoon ink. I edged the card blank with the Emerald Ink and added the first piece of card using foam tape. I feel that this is a true unisex card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • How to use ink pads on a stamping block to get a variety of different techniques.<\/li>
    • How to achieve different looks with spraying the ‘watercolour’ created using the ink pads.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
